Moving offices is the worst

Especially when the evil troll who occupies your new cube can't be bothered to finish packing up her crap or show up to move it. Hope I didn't break anything Biatch!

Now on to the new view on this horribly crappy rainy day

Holidays I should have off....

It is cold as freakin' balls here today. My apartment was so cold, I could not get out of bed. I stayed in bed an hour late. oops, but my boss never comes in before 10 so I knew I was ok.

Then the streets are totally deserted...for a second, I thought the Cloverfield monster was doing it's thang.

Finally, I just realized I forgot to put eye makeup on, which means I look like a psycho because my eyelashes are naturally different colors so it looks like i put mascara on one eye and not the other.

sigh. MONDAY.

Oh yeah, Go Giants!

PS today is supposedly the most depressing day of the year? What's the story there?

TGIF!

This has been such a weird week, but I am not sure why exactly. The gym was a struggle this morning too and I broke out into a serious sweat in Starbucks waiting for my venti skim latte. Whatever, it's Friday!

So I walk by the Gucci store every morning and evening on my way to and from work. WANT the following (sorry the pic sux) Brown leather bag, python heels, and even the sunglasses would be amazing

Also, every so often, the NYPD decides to make a show of its presence around my building (b/c of the Gov? But he has the state patrol) so today there are squad cars outside, beat cops all ova including the lobby, across the street and up on the second level patio thing across the street. Kinda makes you wonder...

and here it is!

SO SCARY and WEIRD
How does that say Happy Holidays?!

The tour begins

This is in an atrium off of Park Ave. I don't normally walk through buildings on my way to work, but it was for a good cause.

Now here comes the candy factory as referenced earlier....
Candy Canes CookiesEek! So creepy and not even the scary mole man thing...that is still to come...

Random holiday decorations

Midtown is a melange (big word!) of "holiday decorations" this time of year. We've got the obvious Christmas Decorations, the mixture of "Christmas" and "Hanukkah" decorations, such as my office which has huge wreaths in a Christmas motif then small trees decorated in blue and gold.

But then we get the buildings that don't want to offend anyone so they are more winter themed as opposed to holiday themed. On Park Ave, there is an animatronic candy shop complete with gingerbread cookies and striped aprons on the creepy little dolls.

The building next to me takes it to a whole new level though...creepy Madame Alexander-esqe dolls of every race and creed ice skating on frozen ponds, amidst the cotton ball snow drifts. What is the real kicker though is the smattering of gopher holes around each pond. Expecting a cute fuzzy animal to provide some cheer? Oh no. What you get is a creepy bearded man/mole type of thing that pops in and out of its hole. Hands down the most disturbing decorations I've seen in my years here. Pictures to follow....

Say Fromage!

Last night we attended the French Wine and Cheese class at the Artisanal Cheese Center on 10th Ave. 9 different cheeses paired with 4 wines. Not to mention the fondue reception with plenty of Kir Royales before we got started. HOLY DAIRY! So good.

Lever House

Ok so I was right about the leather club chair, except it's resin. Those beef shoulders are actually whole sheep. But there are two sides of beef. I don't know if that is worse or better....

Lever House- November 9

The walls are coming down! As you can see in the picture there are white skeletons all over the inside of the building, hopefully fake! The tank looking things have all the items in them. I definitely saw several beef shoulders I think and what looked like a leather club chair. WHO knows, but tomorrow is the day!

Lever House- November 8

Huge air vents have been built in, prob to pump out the smell of the formaldahyde....getting closer!
